MA Scholarships Available for January 2009
University of Kent’s Brussels School of International Studies

Applications are invited for two scholarships for politics students wishing to begin their studies at the University of Kent’s Brussels School of International Studies in January 2009.

Successful candidates will be registered at the University of Kent as full-time students on one of the five politics programmes offered at UKB (listed below) and will receive payment to cover 50% of their tuition fees (€6845 in 2008/9).

These scholarships are open to students of all nationalities and are valid for the following programmes:

  • MA in International Relations
  • MA in International Conflict Analysis
  • MA in International Political Economy
  • MA in European Public Policy
  • MA in Political Strategy and Communication

In order to be considered for the scholarship, candidates must both apply for admission to one of these masters programmes and submit a separate scholarship application, no later than the closing date of 15 October 2008.

The Foundation announces the fourteenth (14th) annual Programme of research grants and educational scholarships starting on October 1st, 2008, which is addressed to non Greeks, full Members of National Academies, University Professors of all levels (Ph.D. holders), postdoctoral researchers (Ph.D. holders), artists, elementary and secondary school teachers of the Greek language as a foreign one, post-graduate students and Ph.D. candidates.

FIELDS / SECTIONS OF RESEARCH OR STUDY
The Programme covers the following fields only:

  • Humanities: Philology, Literature, Linguistics, Theology, History, Archaeology, Philosophy, Educational Studies, Psychology
  • Political Science: Sociology, International Relations
  • Arts: Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theatre, Photography, Film Studies

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The grants and scholarships offered within the framework of this Programme cover scholarly research, post-educational training in the teaching of the Greek language and culture and/or artistic creation in Greece only and in the fields stated in the above paragraph only.

In principle, only persons of non Greek descent are eligible to participate in the Programme. As an exception to this rule, Cypriot citizens are also eligible to apply for category AI and AII grants only, provided they are permanently residing and working outside Greece.

France - Eiffel Doctorate (PhD) Scholarships

Objectives
The Eiffel Doctorate Scholarship programme provide organized education facilities to encourage postgraduate study in France and promote student mobility on joint postgraduate research in priority disciplines.

Coverage
The Eiffel Doctorate Scholarship programme provides French higher education opportunities for future public- and private-sector decision-makers in the following areas:

  • Sciences: engineering sciences, exact sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry), life sciences, bio- and nano-technologies, environment sciences, and information & communication sciences
  • Economics and management
  • Law, political sciences, international relations

Target population
The programme offers foreign students with a master’s degree a year’s study in France. It necessarily involves enrolment on a doctoral thesis course run in partnership with a French higher education centre (with joint management compulsory and joint tutorship preferred).
Students remain enrolled at their original university throughout the doctorate programme.
Applications from non-French-speaking students will be considered provided the applicants take French language training prior to and during the year’s course.
Applicants must be no older than 35 the year of selection.
