IIASA’s annual Young Scientists Summer Program (YSSP) is a three-month (June–August) research program for around fifty advanced students whose interests correspond with IIASA’s ongoing research.
The 2007 program starts on June 4, 2007 and ends on August 31, 2007 ; commitment to stay over the whole period is a prerequisite for acceptance of the application. Participants are expected to arrive in Austria one or two days prior to the official opening of the program.
An essential part of the application is a research plan which should be (i) relevant to the research agenda of the program selected by the applicant (ii) the research objectives of the candidate and (iii) the corresponding background and skills of the applicant. For scientific questions pertaining to the program of your particular interest, please contact the relevant program representative.
Many of IIASA’s National Member Organizations (NMO) provide special grants to enable young scientists (either their own nationals or foreign students studying in their country) to participate. Inquiries concerning financial aid should be directed to the appropriate NMO Secretary.
