Within the framework of the following Bof-project “Measuring road safety impacts of traffic policy measures using travel demand models” a mandate (m/f) is vacant within the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) of Hasselt University:
Researcher – PhD “Traffic Assignment” (2×2 years)
(mandate BEDR/2007/003-HO-2)
Task
Within this doctoral project trips (an origin-destination matrix), generated by an activity-based transport model, will be allocated to a traffic network (traffic assignment). For this, traditionally, an ‘allocation model’ is used. The objective of this research project is to study the existing allocation models and further improve them, using additional information on trips that have been taken. This information is provided by the activity-based transport model.
Profile
The candidate must have sufficient affinity with quantitative research, date analysis methods and software programming.
Diploma
Master Civil Engineer, Master Statistics, Master Mathematics, Master Business Economics (Information Systems Engineering), Master Engineering Sciences, Master Informatics.
