MYC Oncogene Mechanisms and Function

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral assistant to investigate novel biochemical mechanisms and signalling pathways by which Myc oncogenes promote cell proliferation and cell transformation (see Cowling et al (2007) Mol Cell Biol 27:5135, and Cowling et al (2007) Mol Cell Biol 27:2059). The successful candidate will work with Victoria Cowling at the College of Life Sciences, University of Dundee (http://www.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/aboutus).

The project will be approached using biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology in a variety of model systems. This position is funded by the MRC for three years in the first instance and is available from December 2007.
Candidates must have a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or a related field. Previous experience with biochemistry, cell biology, and molecular biology would be an advantage.
