The School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is a world-class research environment that excels in teaching and is rated 5* in the UK Government’s Research Assessment Exercise.
You will contribute to multiple projects within a unified theme of network architecture and protocols. Within PHOSPHOROUS you will help formulate failure/disaster recovery protocols that optimize the network (and service) availability defined as the probability that the network/service will be found operational at a random point in the future. You will also engage in other grid enabled network architecture and protocol design within PHOSPHOROUS. Within VESEL you will contribute to the design and implementation of sensor networks and their cross layer optimisation. Within TINA you will contribute to RFID networks design, flow modelling in an airport scenario and self-organising network design. Within HIPNet you will contribute to traffic modelling, end-to-end QoS modelling and protection and restoration strategies.
