Nanyang Technological University ASEAN Graduate Scholarsips (ASGS) by Coursework for Admission in August 2007 (Academic Year 2007 - 2008)

Nanyang Technological University will be awarding a number of ASEAN Graduate Scholarships [hereafter, ASGS] in academic year 2007-2008 to finance outstanding candidates who are nationals (citizens or permanent residents) of member countries of ASEAN*(except Singapore) to pursue a designated full-time Masters degree programme by coursework at the University.

Each scholarship is tenable for 4 Trimesters (approximately 16 months) for the MBA programme, and 1 year for other programmes. Successful candidates are expected to complete their studies within the tenable period.

Each scholarship shall cover the following :

• A monthly stipend of S$1,350.00;
• A one-time book allowance of S$500.00;
• Tuition fees and all compulsory miscellaneous fees, health insurance, and other approved fees, allowances and expenses;
• Cost of one overseas Business Study Mission undertaken within the tenable period of the scholarship;
• Cost of travel from home country to Singapore on award of the scholarship; and
• Cost of travel from Singapore to home country on successful completion of the course of study within the tenable period of the scholarship.

There is no bond attached to the scholarship and no deferment of scholarship awarded will be allowed. Awards that are not taken up will be given to other qualified candidates.

Eligibility

• Only nationals (citizens or permanent residents) of a member country of ASEAN (except Singapore) may apply. Citizens and permanent residents of Singapore are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants should have :
  (a) an excellent academic record;
  (b) a very good command of the English language;
  (c) at least 2 years of working experience; and
  (d) an acceptable GMAT score (applicable only to applicants of programmes indicated in paragraph 8 below).
• Shortlisted candidates may be required to appear for an interview.
• Recipients of other scholarships or awards shall not be eligible for the ASGS.
• No award will be made unless there is a candidate of sufficient merit.
• English Language Proficiency
  Applicants whose medium of instruction at the tertiary level is not English must submit an acceptable score in the Test of English as a Foreign Language [TOEFL] or the International English Language Testing System [IELTS] with their applications as proof of competence in the English Language. Other tests and those that claim to be predictions, estimations or equivalents of the TOEFL or IELTS are not acceptable.

• Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
  Candidates applying for the following programmes are required to submit their Graduate Management Admission Test [GMAT] score records to support their application: Master of Business Administration, M.Sc.(International Business), NTU-Waseda Double MBA, M.Sc.(Management), M.Sc.(Accountancy), M.Sc.(Marketing), M.Sc.(Applied Finance), M.Sc.(Strategy), M.Sc.(Financial Engineering), M.Sc.(Technology Management)
