Cancer Research Institute 2007 PhD and MD Scholarships in Tumour Immunology
The Research Division at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Melbourne and the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, are pleased to award up to two (2) highly prestigious and competitive scholarships to graduates seeking to commence a PhD or MD degree in Tumour Immunology at the University of Melbourne in 2007. Research for the thesis may be undertaken at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, or the Department of Microbiology & Immunology, University of Melbourne.
A living allowance of $25,575 p.a. full-time, plus a $5000 p.a. international travel allowance, a $1000 p.a. local travel allowance, and a thesis preparation allowance at the APA rate of approx. $840, in the final year of study.
- This scholarship is available to highly motivated Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents.
- Applicants must be commencing their PhD or MD degree in 2007, and must study full-time.
- Applicants must meet the minimum requirement for admission to PhD or MD candidature at the University of Melbourne.
- Applications will be assessed by a selection panel comprising representatives of the three institutions awarding the scholarship, and independently by the University of Melbourne Postgraduate Scholarships Committee. Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of the applicant’s excellent academic and/or research track record, the applicant’s strong desire to be trained in the discipline of Tumour Immunology, and the applicant’s project proposal.
- Applicants should view the proposed project list available from the link below, and must contact the supervisor(s) of the project(s) that interests them directly. Supervisor contact details are noted with projects. Supervisors may want to meet with applicants prior to offering a project, and special/alternative arrangements will be made for applicants residing outside Melbourne.
- Applications must download a copy of the 2007 CRIS Application Information Kit, and the 2007 CRIS Application Additional Information Form. Applications will only be accepted in the form described in the Information Kit.
- Applications must be received by the due date being 31 October 2006.

Dear Sir,
I am Khalil Azizpour PhD of Biotechnology. I am working on Human- and Dairy- derived Probiotics for Application in Human and Animals.
If possible I want evaluate Biological Potential (immunological activity, antagonistic activity, anti cancer, colonization and adhesion activity) of our new probiotic strain (L. delbrueckii subsp.bulgaricus 86) and comparative to other probiotic strains.
