USA – Yale University Postdoctoral Position in Metabolic Regulation

A postdoctoral position is immediately available for a highly motivated individual in the laboratory of Dr. Xiaoyong Yang at Yale University School of Medicine. The laboratory focuses on nutrient and circadian regulation of metabolic homeostasis and its implications in human diseases including diabetes, obesity, cancer, and aging. A combination of cutting-edge tools will be employed, including biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, mouse genetics, genomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and physiology.

The two recent publications by Dr. Xiaoyong Yang are listed below. Yang X, Ongusaha PP, Miles PD, Havstad JC, Zhang F, So WV, Kudlow JE, Michell RH, Olefsky JM, Field SJ, Evans RM. (2008) Phosphoinositide signaling links O-GlcNAc transferase to insulin resistance. Nature 451:964-9. Yang X, Downes M, Yu RT, Bookout AL, He W, Straume M, Mangelsdorf DJ, Evans RM. (2006) Nuclear receptor expression links the circadian clock to metabolism. Cell 126:801-10.

Candidates should have a recent doctoral degree with a strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry. Experience with animal models and/or metabolism is desirable.
