The Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology, the research training group “World Society - the Production and Representation of Globality”. the junior research group “Interdisciplinary Studies in the Production of Culture” and the junior research group “Science, Values, and Democracy” are offering to PhD students and PostDocs research grants with effect from 1 April 2009.
Affiliated to the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology as well as the Center for Interdisciplinary Research, the junior research group Interdisciplinary Studies in the Production of Culture is offering
2 PhD Research Grants
The group conducts research into various branches of the culture industries from a historical-sociological perspective, to which the topics of the PhD research projects should be related. Requirements
Applications for all of the above grants are invited from graduates who plan to acquire a PhD degree or a postdoc qualification with a clear historical or sociological focus. Applicants for a PhD grant should hold an excellent degree, applicants for a postdoc grant an outstanding PhD degree in a humanities or social science subject, preferably history, sociology, social anthropology or political science.
Applications
Applications should include a statement of motivation (1 page); a proposal for a dissertation project (7-10 pages); CV; all degree documents and the names and addresses of two academic referees.
