Germany – 2009 University of Heidelberg HBIGS MSc Fellowship Program in Biosciences
The Graduate School offers three fellowships for outstanding students from Africa, per year, enabling them to enroll in one of the Masters programs at the Faculty of Biosciences.
Each fellowship amounts to € 8000 p.a. and can be granted for up to two years to candidates who have a Bachelors degree in Biosciences and who wish to obtain their Masters degree in Molecular Biosciences or Molecular Biotechnology, respectively, in Heidelberg. To apply for one of the fellowships, please, include a separate letter with your application form in which you explain your financial situation.
The fellows are expected to reach the international education standard either within one year of Masters training to compete in the integrated MSc/PhD track, or after two years to compete in the “normal track” for a PhD position offered by the Graduate School.
The Faculty of Biosciences offers Bachelor programs in “Biology (90 places)”, “Molecular Cell Biology (30 places)”, and “Molecular Biotechnology (45 places)”. In 2007, a new Masters program in “Molecular Biosciences” (120 places) was launched, with Majors in “Cancer Biology”, “Developmental Biology”, “Evolution and Ecology”, “Infectious Diseases”, “Molecular and Cellular Biology”, “Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology of Plants”, “Neuroscience” and “Systems Biology”. A Masters program in “Molecular Biotechnology” (30 places), with Majors in “Drug Development”, “Bioinformatics” and “Biophysical Chemistry” has been established in 2004, in collaboration with the Faculties of Biosciences, Mathematics and Chemistry.
All Bachelor and Masters programs combine classroom teaching with hands-on lab-oriented experimental research training. The progress of the students is monitored by regular examinations and credit points, according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), are awarded.

thank you
hello….am a computer engineer aswell….so i will like to update this from you..and i want you to help me aswell
am M.S.c in biophysics at International Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics ( IBB ). In following I list my researches:
1-theoritical insight to expression of Growth factors
2-radiation effect on some growth factors expression and shedding.
http://www.ibb.ut.ac.ir/seminars/psb_85_2.htm
5- new insight to gene evolution from biothermodynamic sight.
my last resaerch was on evolutionary genetic.I was interested about it and I like to continue my PhD in this field.I have some idea about it and like do it in my future PhD thesis.
During of my MSc I passed molecular biophysics, biothermodynamic, biophysical chemistry, bioinformatics and … courses. I am familiar with some databases (such as PDB, EMBL, SWISSPROT, EBI, NCBI, PIR…) and some program for data analysis (BLAST, FASTA, CLAWSTALL…) and some software (WEB lab viewer lite …) of bioinformatics .I am familliar with c programming ,too. I have a sound knowledge of the following methods / techniques Such as: RT-PCR, Comet assay, Animal cell culture, gel Electrophoresis, Ion Exchange chromatography, too.
I will enthusiastically wait for your positive earliest response
for beginning my Ph.D study.
KHABIRI
I would like to show my interest in the PhD student position in in Telematics Software Engineering at the Chalmers University of Technology . I have the qualifications required for this position based on my education.
I have a master degree in software engineering from BTH (Sweden – Ronneby).
your highly response will be highly appreciated
