Chile – Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Postdoc Research Associate in Cognitive or Educational Needs of Talented Children
The Center for the Study and Development of Academic Talents (PENTA-UC) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate.
The successful candidate must hold a completed PhD (between December 2004 and September 2008) and is expected to show evidence of research excellence in the field of education. Good management of written and spoken Spanish is preferable but not compulsory.
Under the broad direction and academic oversight of the Center’s Director, the successful candidate will develop his/her own research agenda in the area of gifted education. In particular, research should be conducted in one of the following sub-fields: cognitive or educational needs of talented children.
The candidate should also collaborate with the Center’s ongoing research projects and may have other responsibilities associated with the broader mission of the Center. Such duties could include participation in conferences and seminars, preparation of grant proposals, creation of research reports and working papers for publication on the Center’s web site, supervision of student research assistants, and teaching.
This position is tenable for three years. At the end of the third year the postdoctoral research associate obtains a faculty position in one of the related faculties at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The latter is tenable for three years which makes up for a total of six years with the possibility for renewal.
Candidates should submit the following materials: application form, cover letter describing their suitability for the position, curriculum vitae with a list of publications, sample of their written work (in English or Spanish), research proposal (2,000 words) with an abstract (200 words), and three letters of recommendation.

I am member of the scientific staff of Horticulture Department, College of Agriculture, Jondi Shapoor (Shahid Chamran) University, Ahvaz, Iran. My research and study areas are Plant Physiology, Stress, and Lawn culture. I teach Floriculture, Lawn, ornamental trees and shrubs in Department of Horticulture.
In January 2002, I received my M.Sc Degree in Horticulture from chamran university of Ahvas (Jondi shapoor Ahvaz Univ. Iran) and the subject of my M.Sc Thesis has had “The Effects of Salinity and Temperature on germination, seedling emergence and development stages of three types of lawnâ€.
