UK – 2007 James Martin Institute for Science and Civilization Research (Doctoral) Studentships
Applications for Research Studentships are now invited from individuals with experience and/or interests in any area of the social dimensions of science and technology.
Candidates with interests in the following areas are particularly encouraged to apply:
- Intersection between research on the social determinants of health, resilience and development
- Technology, poverty and disasters
- Futures research:scenarios thinking and practice
- Rethinking energy security
In all cases applicants should indicate how their proposed area of study contributes to issues in the research literature in science and technology studies and /or science and technology policy.
Studentships are awarded for three years and are to the value of full fees plus a monthly stipend towards living costs. Successful candidates are offered an award conditional on their being accepted onto the doctoral degree course.

If shortlisted, candidates must be available for interview, preferably in person in Oxford, on Monday 19 February 2007
Please note that whilst candidates recommended for studentship funding will be advised soon after the interviews, final decisions on admission will not be ratified for communication to applicants until Friday 16 March 2007
